Necromancer for Grimwild Community Edition

A necromancer path for Grimwild Community Edition and the original Grimwild 1.4.

Known, as the Gatekeeper, this authority over the gates of spirit-world commands two nightmarish hordes of undead. Choose between dancing skeletons, diseased zombies, and shrieking wraiths.

Keep them as brutish powerhouses to wreak havoc with their own strength, or divide them into weaker, but more numerous, hordes to sacrifice as fuel for your dark spells.

When their bones scatter, their flesh splits, and their spirits shatter, instantly command new thralls to take their place. 

• Heal yourself and your allies
• Revive your slain companions, potentially twisting them into undead forms
• Combine your hordes into one hulking giant to smash anything in your path
• Shift into a wraith to fly, float through walls, and possess others
• Speak to souls as you ferry them into the afterlife

Perform a seance to call an undead spirit to your body, gaining old wisdom, but shifting your personality and voice toward the combination of you and the dead.

Update 1 - August 22, 2026:

• Updated the Thrall core talent to allow sacrificing more than one thrall (and of any type) to allow mixing of touchstones between undead types, and improve pure spellcasting by stating the bonuses to spellcasting are achieved by sacrificing 2d/3d of thralls instead of just 2d/3d thralls.
• Updated the Dividing Thralls section to state when thralls are divided (at the beginning of each session)
• Changed how sacrificed thralls are refreshed to get away from the GM always needing to firmly state when one scene ends and another begins. The Gatekeeper can now perform a sacrament, when given time, to fully refresh their thrall pools and bring back sacrificed thralls.
